BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) leaders were detained while wearing T-shirts featuring images of Adani and Revanth, which read "Adani-Revanth Bhai Bhai." This incident occurred as they attempted to enter the Telangana Assembly. The T-shirts were part of a protest by the BRS against a perceived connection between the Congress leader Revanth Reddy and the Adani Group. The police stopped the BRS lawmakers at the entrance of the Assembly, citing objections to their attire. This action led to a confrontation, and the lawmakers were eventually taken away by the police in vehicles. BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao accused the authorities of a double standard, arguing that while BRS MLAs were being detained for their protest, Congress members had previously protested similarly in Parliament without facing such consequences. The BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya also criticized the detention, labeling it as a double standard by the Congress party. He pointed out that Congress members had previously protested in Parliament wearing various costumes and engaging in theatrical acts without facing similar restrictions.
