Coldplay is a British rock band formed in London in 1996. The band consists of lead vocalist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion. They initially called themselves "Pectoralz" before adopting the name Coldplay, suggested by a friend, Tim Rice-Oxley.
