Storage Precautions
Proper storage of chemicals is a cornerstone of laboratory safety. Store chemicals in designated, locked areas, away from heat or sunlight, and ensure they're clearly labeled. Never store chemicals where they might initiate dangerous reactions if combined. For specific types of chemicals, like flammables or oxidizers, use specialized storage solutions such as flammable-safe refrigerators or flammable storage cabinets. Keep large bottles on low shelves and segregate incompatible substances, such as acids from bases. Adhere to the "first in, first out" principle and regularly check for any signs of deterioration.
