Designer Katrina Boschenko of Wander Designs revamped a 150 square feet kitchen in Austin, Texas. The homeowners wanted to open the kitchen, increase space, add timeless style, and save money by repainting the existing cabinets.The chosen cabinet color is Boreal Forest by Benjamin Moore. The design incorporates neutrals and natural elements such as white oak beam, mango wood chairs, and natural-colored woven blinds. Special features include a limestone tile backsplash, oil-rubbed-bronze fixtures, and a single-slab quartz countertop on the island. A pop of color is added with mustard yellow counter stools.An 'uh-oh' moment occurred when the quartz countertop slab was dropped during installation, requiring a second slab.
