Designer Laura Tays of Tays & Co Design Studios had to find a compromise between a husband’s love of rustic style and a wife’s more modern tastes in this lake house.Using natural materials like the wood ceiling, soapstone countertop, stone bar wall, and zellige tiles, she created the desired rustic cabin-inspired flavor.Meanwhile, she used straight lines, gridded patterns, and modern accents to strike the right balance between the couple’s style preferences.
