Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan and 17 others have been booked under the SC/ST Atrocities Act in Bengaluru. The case was registered at the Sadashiva Nagar police station based on a complaint by Durgappa, a former faculty member at the Centre for Sustainable Technology at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Durgappa, who belongs to the tribal Bovi community, alleged that he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case and subsequently dismissed from service at IISc in 2014. He further claimed that he was subjected to casteist abuse and threats during this period.The other individuals accused in this case include former IISc Director Balaram, Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari KVS, Dasappa, Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadyaya K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan. The case was filed on the directions of the 71st city civil and sessions court (CCH). Kris Gopalakrishnan, who served as the vice chairman of Infosys from 2011 to 2014 and the CEO and managing director from 2007 to 2011, is also a member of the Board of Trustees at IISc.
