The Eaton Fire, which began on January 7, 2025, in Los Angeles County, has led to multiple lawsuits against Southern California Edison (SCE). These lawsuits allege that the fire was sparked by SCE's power lines. A key piece of evidence is a surveillance video from a gas station security camera that shows arcing and sparks on a transmission tower in Eaton Canyon just before the fire started. This video, obtained by the law firm Edelson PC, allegedly shows electrical sparks falling onto dry vegetation, followed by a flash of light and the subsequent ignition of the hillside within minutes.
