Louisiana Mayor and Six Others Arrested in Drug Trafficking and Prostitution Investigation

The mayor of Bogalusa, Tyrin Truong, was arrested along with several others in connection with a drug and prostitution investigation by Louisiana State Police. The arrests took place early Tuesday morning at Truong's home in Bogalusa. Truong faces multiple charges, including transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, unauthorized use of a moveable, and soliciting for prostitutes. The unauthorized use of a moveable is defined as taking someone else's personal property without their permission, knowledge, or consent.

Other individuals arrested in connection with the investigation include:

The investigation began in April when the Louisiana State Police Narcotics/Violent Crime Task Force learned of a drug trafficking organization operating in Bogalusa. The organization was linked to several dangerous controlled substances, including opioids, high-grade marijuana, THC products, and MDMA. The organization used social media to distribute the drugs and payments, with some money used to purchase guns. Some of these guns were given to individuals not legally allowed to possess them, and others were linked to violent crimes in Bogalusa.
